Rajputana Collective Collaboration: A Glimpse into Rana Ceremonial Attire & Ornaments as Remnants of a Bygone Era

Fashion
Hi guys. For those who follow me on my social media pages would know that I collaborated with Rajputana Collective's 2nd magazine edition in its debut fashion column to elaborate upon the historical relevance of my ancestral couture. Apart from the magazine description that I would be mentioning, I have to mention how well both the editions have turned out with the hard work of the editor in chief Urvashi Singh of Khimsar. This magazine is a great medium for connecting members of the Rajput Community. I cannot wait for the upcoming editions. Magazine Description: Rajputana Collective is a socio-cultural lifestyle magazine. The first of its kind, it highlights contemporary-day Rajputs in their multifaceted lives and endeavours in a native and personalised reportage. A fresh take on entrepreneurial journalism Rajputana Collective…

Luxury Cruising by Jagat Collection ft. The Monsieur M Club

Fashion, luxury and travel - this combination strikes the perfect chord for me. This post is another example of it. Pairing one of my most high end wear for this luxury shoot couldn't have been more appropriate. For this look I wore the ever classic peak lapel jacket which has had a recent comeback in terms of trend. The peak lapel is Versatile at its best. It will add the funk factor to your formal wear and can be a fun way to add some serious panache to a more casual look. This peak lapel jacket I am wearing is from The Monsieur M Club, which is a bespoke menswear label that provides a complete range of customised services right from closet design to dressing as per body type and…

Standing out in Vikram Bajaj Design at Udai Kothi Palace Hotel, Udaipur

Fashion, Lifestyle, Travel
Introducing Sports Couture to India, Vikram Bajaj Design Menswear is your go to designer for every modern man who wants to dress their dapper best. This printed silk suit with its earthy muted tones grabbed my complete attention. These tones completely matched with the aesthetics of the Rajasthan shoot I had researched for. I completed this look with the GG print Gucci belt. To add to the luxury factor of the shoot, I also collaborated with Bespoke Pelle which has customized luxury leather products. Their products actually standout, especially the green and tan trunk which I shot with, for this look.  I couldn't have found a better place than Udai Kothi Palace Hotel in Udaipur that has been getting rave reviews by guests from all social platforms. The hotel has…

Luxury Grooming – Shepherd for men

Luxury Grooming – Shepherd for men

Grooming, Lifestyle
Shepherd for Men - Here's a brand for men that delves into luxury and high quality at an affordable price. I happened to see the price tag before I used the product and really hoped the quality would be as high as the price tag. By that, I mean the price was relatively higher than the average grooming products for men. But as I read their exotic ingredients, it did tempt me to try them on at the earliest. What I like about their products is that it is sulphate and paraben free which makes the product much milder for daily use.  Here are some of the products I tried out: The daily hydration shampoo with Ginseng Root Extracts, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein and 12 other exotic natural plant extracts. The daily hydration…

Royal Blue – Jodhpur ft. Philocaly Menswear

Royal Blue – Jodhpur ft. Philocaly Menswear

Fashion, Travel
I relate to the term 'Feeling Blue' as feeling fresh, energetic and vibrant. I look at it from a more positive approach. Our only physical imagination of heaven is the sky, and when you look up, what colour do you see? Blue. hence I cannot associate the colour with anything negative. Jodhpur is a city I have been wanting to visit for a long time as it is popularly known to be the blue city where you can get atop a fort and overlook a city filled with blue houses. How lovely does that sound? Well it really is as beautiful as you imagine, but I must say that I always ignored the fact that it would be hot AF. Talking about hot, isn't blue a cooling contrast to that?…

TSV X Bobo Calcutta – A Symbol of Defiance

TSV X Bobo Calcutta – A Symbol of Defiance

Wearing an outfit that looks great on you makes you feel great and confident. Wearing the same, but which openly promotes free love and equality gives you a certain responsibility when wearing the outfit. Bobo Calcutta is such a label based in Kolkata that promotes love by choice and equality for all freely through the work of art created by Ayushman Mitra and incorporated as prints on his ready to wear label. Not to mention the outfits that are made without keeping in mind the gender of the people who would be wearing them. In other words, their outfits are gender fluid and every item of their label can be worn either by male or female. There are no barriers when it comes to gender in their label and that…

I happened to stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast inside the 800+ year old fort which also happens to be the first hotel that ever functioned in Jaisalmer. It is called 'Hotel Jaisal Castle' which you can book through Airbnb if you are lucky enough (Click here for the link) and I was completely enamored by the beauty of this stay. The windows of my room had a view of the whole city gleaming in shades of gold. To checkout the mind-blowing view, click here. They have a beautiful portico where I took these pictures. Living amid history and reading my grandfathers book namely 'Singha Durbar: Rise and Fall of the Rana Regime of Nepal' (available on Amazon and Flipkart) really blended well. Being the descendant of the Rana…

Hues of Gold ft. SS HOMME Couture

Hello to my fashionable readers. After a one month-long hiatus from the blogging world, I am back post a lovely trip to Rajasthan for my birthday and to shoot various collaborative blog shoots. That sure was a double dose of excitement that I felt before my travelogue to Rajasthan. But fate seemed to give me a graver challenge and I was diagnosed with high fever and tonsillitis from the first to the last day of my trip. Yes, this actually happened when I had so much work and leisure planned side by side. I sacrificed the latter part and made sure to complete the work bit of my trip. My photographer Prachi Sharma was kind enough to let me shoot fewer looks per day which extended the three-day multi city…

Rajasthan Calling!

Rajasthan Calling!

Fashion, Travel
Well, its my birthday month and I love getting away from the conundrums of a metropolitan city to be at a quaint and beautiful place where I can absorb all the fruitful energies that the place offers so as to go back to the city of dreams all charged up and ready to face the world. I do not know how to explain, but I really need that time to sit back and just absorb all the activities and events that have taken place the entire year. It truly recharges you. I just visited home back in Nepal for a week so there is no clearer sign than for me to Visit my second home - Rajasthan this birthday. Well, time is running and this may sound crazy but i…

Breaking Gender norms: Sticking to your Gender fluid style.

Breaking Gender norms: Sticking to your Gender fluid style.

Fashion, Travel
Back in the early ages, clothes were worn not on the basis of gender norms but on the basis of basic shelter. Coming back to the present day, from Zara to Louis Vuitton, the creative directors have voiced their opinion in making gender fluid style more prominent. Go hundred years back and you wouldn't see a woman wear a trench coat and come back to the present times where you see a big name like Jaden Smith promote gender fluid style. For those who don't know, Jaden Smith did a campaign for Louis Vuitton for their women's collection. You could se him adorning a skirt. It was a great example set by a young man for so many other people to envisage that one shouldn't be judged by the kind…
